Quicksilver's Original Apple Pie recipe

This formula is mostly rough and thoroughly approximate, and I’ve made a lot of friends on account of it.

The best part is, if you like to fool around a bit with what you put in it, then you can come up with something that’s truly your own. And yes, it gets better with age (keep it refrigerated).

First off, you need a 3 Gallon jug, bucket or barrel (I call mine the “mother of all jugs” -- I reckon you can find a relative, or have me make you one, a fine idea!). If you can’t locate one, then you need to find some helpful soul to do the math and figure out the smaller proportions for a smaller container.

Next, start pouring stuff in:

* One fifth (that’s 750 ml for you metric types) of Myers
Original Dark Rum (the one from Jamaica, mon).

* One fifth Captain Morgan’s Spiced Rum (yes, that bottle with
the jolly pirate on the label). Barbarosa Rum is okay, too.

* One fifth Bacardi Dark Rum (or light, if you’d rather). You
can use 151 proof if you really want to go over the edge.
{ Caution : Flammable! }

To make the magic, add the spices. I use about a teaspoon each of Cinnamon, Cloves (ground), and Allspice. Some folks like to add nutmeg. Dump in a few cinnamon sticks, to sit there and mellow. Just like you will when you start drinking this brew......

Now fill up the jug with about 1 ½ gallons of apple cider or apple juice, it doesn’t matter which. Shake it up.

CHEERS !!

New Link~Depoe Bay Winery

I have added a link under Ports of Call. We had a very nice chat with the Proprietress when we were down that way a few weeks ago. She did express interest in having Pirates hanging around...perhaps breaking into song or fights or ???

They are located on the strip along 101...also known as the Wine Cave. I bought a bottle of Santa's Elixir for my holiday imbibing.

First Friday~December 5th

First Friday at the Stillhouse in Oregon City, 7pm start time. Quartermaster James will be bringing songbooks for those as want to warm up their vocal chords for the Pirate caroling later this month.

Also, I have it on good authority that there will be those in attendance who will be encouraging the crew to be parted with their coinage in some rousing rounds of Morgan's revenge.

See you there mates!
